“I was informed that my village received a letter from the terrorists, stating their plans to invade on December 29,” Kavwam revealed.

He highlighted that the terrorists had previously distributed letters to various communities, forewarning them of impending attacks, and lamented the lack of proactive measures taken by security authorities despite multiple distress calls.

“Despite receiving thirty-seven distress calls, no action was taken by the security agencies,” Kavwam emphasized.

Expressing concern, he pointed out that the victims of the terrorist attacks were predominantly from Christian-inhabited communities and alleged that security forces were well aware of the assailants’ identities and even knew their hideout for the past two decades.

According to Kavwam, the attacks persist unabated, and there has been an apparent absence of response from the security authorities.

It is pertinent to recall the recent spate of violence in Plateau state, where terrorists claimed over 150 lives during attacks on villages from December 23 to December 25. The assaults, originating in the Bokkos area, spilled over into neighboring Barkin Ladi, with residents of Mushu village also falling victim to an attack while they slept.
