Recent weeks have seen a surge in online discussions, with the most prominent topics revolving around the grim realities of kidnapping, theft, corruption, and the economic struggles causing inflation. The concerns are widespread, reaching all corners of society, including the voices of the nation’s elite.

Reacting to the tragic events unfolding in Ekiti State, Atiku Abubakar took to his social media platform to express his dismay, stating:

“While Nigeria grapples with the tidal wave of insecurity, our Commander-in-Chief is seemingly preoccupied with a private visit. It is disheartening to witness kidnappers claiming innocent lives, such as a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja, targeted for their inability to pay a N90 million ransom, and the tragic demise of two monarchs in Ekiti, among the countless other regular tragedies befalling Nigerians. If the responsibilities prove too burdensome for President Emilokan, it is in the nation’s best interest for him to step aside. Nigeria cannot afford a leader who merely tours the challenges. What the nation urgently requires is 24/7 leadership, capable of confronting the pervasive insecurity and addressing the crumbling economy. -AA.”

Atiku Abubakar’s impassioned words resonate as a call for immediate and decisive action to safeguard the lives and well-being of the Nigerian people amidst the escalating insecurity plaguing the nation.
