The mini-bus swerved off the road, colliding with a parked vehicle on the roadside, resulting in the driver’s fatality and severe injuries to some passengers. Adeyemo mentioned that one passenger attempted to take control of the bus before it collided with a Toyota Corolla parked nearby.

During the chaotic incident, another passenger leaped from the moving bus, sustaining injuries to her head and eyes upon hitting the ground. Adeyemo recounted witnessing people shouting as the vehicle lost control, highlighting how a female passenger managed to guide the bus down the bridge before colliding with a vehicle on the highway.

Mr. Henry Benamaisia, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Osun, confirmed the accident, emphasizing that the swift response of the FRSC personnel prevented a road gridlock. The injured passengers were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention, and the deceased driver’s body was deposited at the morgue.

Benamaisia urged road users to prioritize safety while driving, emphasizing the importance of abstaining from the consumption of drugs, alcohol, or any harmful substances during driving. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of impaired driving and the need for heightened safety awareness on the roads.
