The joint border patrol team of the Nigeria Custom Service in Sector IV has successfully seized a shipment of sex enhancement drugs worth N19.6 million in Sokoto State. Mr. Oladeji disclosed that the intercepted trucks, loaded with food items, were en route to Niger Republic through the Kebbi border, a clear violation of regulations. He emphasized the determination to curb food smuggling due to the prevailing economic conditions in the country.

Expressing concern over the surge in food prices attributed to the activities of certain individuals, he stated, “We will leave no stone unturned to block food smuggling out of the country because of the current situation in the country.” Despite the border closures mandated by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), some individuals persist in diverting essential food supplies to other nations.

In addition to the confiscated sex enhancement drugs and intercepted food trucks, the NCS operatives also seized 60 jerry cans of petroleum products being smuggled out of the country. Mr. Oladeji appealed to the public for cooperation and support, urging them to provide intelligence that can assist officials in preventing activities that negatively impact the nation’s economy and public health.
