Busayo Dairo, a 27-year-old entrepreneur from Abeokuta, Ogun State, opens up about her educational journey, health struggles, and the hurdles she faced due to her physical condition.
Starting her education in kindergarten, Busayo secured a scholarship for secondary school despite health challenges. Unfortunately, her time at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic was cut short due to a severe illness, forcing her to drop out.
Despite numerous setbacks, Busayo remains resilient, having recently launched an online business specializing in male wear, particularly round-neck shirts.
Busayo’s health struggles began with a diagnosis of typhoid fever, leading to a severe deterioration in her condition. Bedridden and practically unable to walk, she underwent extensive medical treatment, including injections and intravenous drips.
Her mother’s connection to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital played a crucial role in securing the scholarship that supported Busayo throughout her secondary education.
Addressing the cause of her physical condition, Busayo explains that it manifested about three months after her first birthday. Initially walking normally, she started experiencing balance issues, eventually leading to a critical condition that required spiritual and medical interventions.
Despite her challenges, Busayo emphasizes that her condition is not genetic and doesn’t run in her family. None of her relatives, including those on her father’s side, share the same physical condition.
Busayo’s story is one of determination, resilience, and gratitude for overcoming obstacles, inspiring others to pursue their dreams regardless of the challenges they may face.
