In recognizing the severity of moral decay in Kano, Governor Yusuf emphasized that combating these issues is a collective responsibility, not solely the government’s concern. He urged religious leaders to focus on guiding the youth towards responsible and upright behavior.

During a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House Kano, the governor stressed the crucial role of religious leaders in restoring the lost dignity of Kano and its people. He called on them to use their platforms to advocate for goodness, steering clear of politics, and emphasizing the importance of doing the right things.

Governor Yusuf highlighted the significant youth population in Kano, comprising 65% of the over 24 million residents. He urged religious leaders to address issues such as drug abuse, adultery, robbery, and phone snatching, emphasizing their role in contributing to the community’s well-being.

While acknowledging the government’s commitment to providing education, building capacity, and offering employment opportunities, the governor underscored the need for collective efforts in safeguarding the community.

Governor Yusuf also announced the state government’s commitment to ensuring food availability for the public before the start of Ramadan fasting.
