The sad news of Mr Ibu’s demise due to cardiac arrest at the age of 62 had reverberated across the entertainment industry.
In the recorded footage, the late actor could be seen lying on his hospital bed, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Nigerian music sensation, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of P-Square, just hours before his departure.
Even amidst his final moments, Mr Ibu managed to crack a light-hearted joke, extending prayers for Paul Okoye’s heavenly ascension while thanking him profusely for his unwavering support during his time of need.
Reflecting on life’s unpredictability, Mr Ibu emphasized the divine timing of events, remarking, “When the time comes, it has come.”
In his poignant words to Rudeboy, he quipped, “Rudeboy, I don’t know where to begin. But everything happens exactly on God’s own time. When the time comes, it has come. If you don’t make heaven, call me nama [meat]. You will go to heaven and we will sit in the presence of the angels and eat together.”
