Tragic Loss Two Youths Perish In Cross River Mining Accident

Tragedy struck in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State as two youths lost their lives when a deep well, dug for mining purposes, collapsed on them. According to reports from locals, the discovery of a rare mineral called Tourmaline in the area prompted illegal miners to engage the youths of the community in exploiting it. Over a period of approximately four months, the youths diligently dug the well to an unspecified but perilous depth. In response to the tragedy, Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
