Reflecting on the experience, Davido admitted to spending a year in Atlanta, only to return to Nigeria disheartened by the lackluster reception of his music under Sony. “When I first came, they put me with some producers, but it didn’t work out, we dropped an EP under Sony, my first project; ‘failure, failure’ to my standards,” Davido candidly expressed.
