BDCs Clarify Misinformation On Dollar Selling At N1,000/$1....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Bureau de Change operators in Abuja have refuted online reports suggesting that the US Dollar is being traded for rates ranging from N900 to N1,000 within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Claims circulating on social media platforms like Facebook and X asserted that the dollar was being sold at N1,000 in the Wuse Zone 4 area, a hub for parallel forex trading in Abuja.

The falsified post circulated widely, stating:

“This morning, at Zone 4 Abuja, near Sheraton Hotel, the dollar is trading at N1,000 – $1. Abdulsalam BDC offers N900 for purchases exceeding $5,000. There is a significant rush to sell dollars at Zone 4. Presently, the dollar in the parallel market is quoted at a rate lower than the official market.”

However, representatives of Bureau de Change establishments in the region have categorically denied the validity of these claims. They assert that such assertions are false and misleading.
