Nigeria Should Focus On Development, Says Shehu Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani emphasized that Nigeria should aspire to be a leader not just in population size but across all sectors of the economy. Speaking at the Inaugural Memorial Lecture of the late Publisher of Business Hallmark, Prince Emeka Obasi, Sani stressed the importance of Nigeria becoming a giant in manufacturing, export, shipbuilding, car manufacturing, information technology, agriculture, and education.

Highlighting Nigeria’s vast potential, Sani lamented the nation’s current state, emphasizing the need for tangible progress. He questioned why Nigeria, endowed with abundant resources, continues to grapple with persistent challenges. Sani attributed these issues not to divine intervention but to self-inflicted wounds.

Addressing pressing concerns, Sani called for decisive action to combat security threats, emphasizing the need for robust investment in science and technology.
