Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Conceals Body Inside Home

Police in Ondo State have arrested Fatai Abdullahi, a 30-year-old man, for allegedly fatally stabbing his wife, Morenike, in Akure, the state capital. The incident reportedly occurred following a minor argument between the couple, during which Abdullahi used scissors to carry out the act.

Abdullahi allegedly kept the body of his wife locked inside their house until late at night before alerting authorities. This information was disclosed by the state police public relations officer, Funmi Odunlami, in a statement.

According to Odunlami, a complainant reported that the suspect informed them of his wife’s death in the evening after she returned from church. Upon investigation, a pair of scissors with blood stains was found at the scene of the crime.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his late wife, Olayode Morenike, had frequent arguments over her visits to check on her child from a previous marriage,” Odunlami stated. “After the alleged murder, the suspect took pictures of the body and kept it locked inside the house until late at night before reporting the incident.”

Further examination uncovered injuries consistent with stabbing on the deceased’s stomach and neck. It was also revealed that Morenike was handicapped.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
