During a press conference at the Government House in Kano on Monday, Gwarzo apologized to Ribadu, clarifying that the government had been misinformed about his involvement in the crisis.

“The Office of the National Security Adviser has refuted the allegations and distanced themselves from what we alleged. I have seen Ribadu’s denials through multiple media outlets, and today, I have seen the one about going to court. We have to acknowledge that we were misled into believing that the NSA was behind these events,” Gwarzo said.
