A King Does Not Kneel Before His Queen – Nigerian Man Reacts To Viral Church Photograph
A Nigerian man, Mute Efe, has sparked debate on social media after expressing his disapproval of men kneeling before their wives, even during religious activities.
Efe made his position known while reacting to a photograph showing a husband kneeling before his wife during a prayer session in a church.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the Nigerian man argued that although the intention behind the gesture might be positive, he personally does not support the practice.
He also cautioned women against allowing church ministers to pressure their husbands into kneeling before them for any reason, insisting that such a gesture should not be encouraged.
In his reaction, Efe maintained that a man should not have to kneel before his wife, using the relationship between a king and queen to emphasise his position.
He wrote, “Let me state it clearly that I don’t support this. The intention may be right but I don’t support it. And as a wife, never allow any minister compel your husband to kneel before you for any reason. A king does not kneel before his queen.”
His comments have drawn attention to differing opinions about marriage, respect, religious practices and the roles of husbands and wives, particularly regarding public displays of affection and submission during church activities.
