Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick stated, “I’ve received numerous calls expressing doubts about Eric Chelle’s appointment. I couldn’t help but shake my head because, prior to this announcement, I conducted extensive research and due diligence on Eric. It’s clear that many critics are unfamiliar with his background and qualifications.”

Pinnick also pointed out that some opposition to Chelle’s appointment stems from racial biases, saying, “Many are making judgments purely based on the color of his skin, overlooking his accomplishments and the goals he seeks to achieve.”
