Abuja Residents Experience Power Disruption As AEDC Conducts 33kV Feeder Repairs

Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) Management announced on Thursday that the recent power outage experienced in parts of the capital city was a result of necessary repairs on the 33kv NIPP feeder. This information was conveyed through an official statement posted on AEDC’s Twitter handle.

The affected areas were identified as Dantata Estate, FO1, Chikakore, Byazhin, Byazhin Across, Gbazango, and Military Pension Board.

Furthermore, the statement outlined another set of locations experiencing power interruption, including FCDA, Owner Occupier, Army Estate, Phase 3, Phase 4, 2.1, 22, Extension 2, Aso Garden Estate, Zenith Bank area, Dutse, Papas Ground, Karsana, Mona Apartment, and their surroundings. The outage in these areas was attributed to a fault on the 33kV Kubwa circuit breaker.

The AEDC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by these power disruptions and assured customers that all relevant stakeholders are actively working to restore power supply at the earliest. The statement concluded by thanking customers for their understanding and patience during this period.
