Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Rossoneri believe the London side are edging closer to activating the €24 million purchase clause, a deal that could rank among Milan’s most profitable player sales in the next transfer window.
Milan are said to expect a higher return from Chukwueze’s permanent transfer than from any other potential exit, offering a major financial lift as the club prepares for a squad overhaul.
Fulham’s willingness to complete the deal is likely to strengthen if the 26-year-old sustains his strong form in the latter stages of the season.
Despite struggling with fitness issues, Chukwueze has delivered solid returns, registering three goals and four assists in all competitions so far.
His momentum was briefly slowed by international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he played a role in Nigeria’s third-place finish, causing him to miss six Premier League fixtures.
Since returning, Chukwueze has gradually reintegrated into Fulham’s squad, making three further appearances and starting important league matches against Manchester United and Everton.
His recent inclusion in the starting XI has enhanced his role in Marco Silva’s attacking plans, with his speed, direct approach and improved finishing bringing added sharpness to Fulham’s frontline.
Sitting tenth in the Premier League, Fulham are enjoying a steady campaign, and Chukwueze’s growing influence has only reinforced AC Milan’s belief that the Cottagers will opt to make his move permanent at season’s end.
