Adamawa Residents Escape Death As Troops Foil Boko Haram Attack

Security sources said the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community around 7:00 p.m. on April 26, opening fire indiscriminately and throwing residents into panic.
According to Zagagola Makama, the sudden assault forced villagers to flee their homes as gunfire rang out across the area.
Soldiers of the 232 Battalion in Gombi, alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), were quickly mobilised to the scene.
The combined security team engaged the attackers in a fierce exchange of fire, successfully pushing them back and forcing their withdrawal.
At the time of filing this report, the full extent of damage from the attack was yet to be confirmed.
Sources also noted that clearance operations were ongoing to assess the situation and ensure the area is safe.
Security operatives have since taken control of the community, maintaining a strong presence to forestall any further attacks and restore normalcy.
