Rephrased statement: The African Centre for Justice and Human Rights (ACJHR) has raised concerns regarding the reported circulation of messages within pro-Imo government and APC WhatsApp groups.

The ACJHR has identified the panels as follows:

  1. The first panel comprises Hon. Justice Y. Halilu as Chairman, along with Hon. Justice M.G. Abubakar and Hon. Justice A. O. Familoni.
  2. The second panel is chaired by Hon. Justice Salisu Umar and includes Hon. Justice Temitopo Adedipe and Hon. Justice Musa Usamn.
  3. The third panel consists of Hon. Justice A. O. Akpovi, Hon. Justice Usman A. S. Kudu, and Hon. Justice Ibrahim Mohammed.

In a statement released by the Head of Public Interest Litigation Monitoring Unit, Ade Balogun, the group expressed concerns that the alleged culprits are determined to replicate what they referred to as the ‘Supreme Court magic.

This phrase alludes to the controversial situation where individuals who initially ranked last in an election were declared as winners.

The ACJHR called on members of the Imo Election Petitions Tribunal to disregard the actions of individuals whose purported desperation to retain power allegedly tarnished the reputation of the Supreme Court.

They asserted that these individuals misled the apex court with fabricated election results, resulting in a candidate moving from fourth place to first in the gubernatorial election.
