Aisha Yesufu Condemns Political Patronage After Bobrisky’s Jail Term....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Social critic and human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has responded to the six-month prison sentence imposed on popular cross-dresser, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky. The Federal High Court in Lagos handed down the sentence without the option of a fine, following Bobrisky’s conviction for naira abuse.

Bobrisky was apprehended last Wednesday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos State, on allegations of money laundering and naira abuse. He pleaded guilty to four counts of misusing naira on April 5, after being charged by the anti-graft agency.

Aisha criticized Bobrisky for pleading guilty to the charge of naira mutilation. In response to the verdict, she questioned the equivalence between spraying money and mutilating it. She expressed her bewilderment over the selective enforcement of laws regarding such acts, pondering why politicians who throw money at people are not similarly prosecuted.

She further questioned whether Bobrisky had physically destroyed the naira notes, emphasizing the need for fair and non-discriminatory prosecution based on actual crimes committed.

Aisha’s remarks raise concerns about the inconsistency in legal enforcement and the need for accountability irrespective of one’s status or profession.
