Akpabio made the statement on Wednesday while hosting members of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, led by its National President, Lima Ahmed, during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly.
According to a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, the Senate President assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration remains determined to eliminate insecurity across the country.
Welcoming the delegation, Akpabio said the government is giving the nation’s security challenges the highest level of attention.
“On behalf of the Nigerian Senate, I welcome you to the National Assembly. I am delighted to receive you in my office,” he said.
He added, “Every Nigerian is aware of the security challenges confronting the country. However, I can confidently say that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is giving the situation his utmost attention, and that commitment contributed to the recent release of the schoolchildren who were abducted in Oyo State.”
Akpabio further expressed confidence that ongoing efforts by the Federal Government would significantly improve the country’s security situation.
“The current administration is doing a great deal to address these challenges, and I believe that insecurity will soon become a thing of the past. Nigerians should not depend solely on what they read or see on social media because it does not always reflect the true situation in the country,” he said.
