Abdullahi Ismail, a local councillor, confirmed the incident, highlighting that the area has become a danger zone due to terrorist activities. Villagers stated that among the victims were farmers and children who were present at the community mosque at the time of the attack.

The organization warned that this culture of impunity threatens the safety of the very civilians the military is meant to protect. Amnesty International stated, “We call for a thorough, impartial, and effective investigation into the Nigerian Air Force bombing that reportedly killed 23 villagers, most of them women and children, in Kidandan village, Kaduna State.”
The organization emphasized that among those killed were worshippers at a mosque and individuals at a nearby market, reiterating that the failure of Nigerian authorities to hold the military accountable exacerbates the risk to civilian lives.
