According to reports, the state government has intensified its crackdown on fraudulent native doctors in Anambra, many of whom boast of their ability to provide instant riches and create protective charms for criminals, including kidnappers.

So far, about 40 of these individuals have been detained following a series of arrests by government operatives.

While addressing defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in support of his re-election bid, Soludo clarified that his government is not targeting traditional worshippers, but rather criminal elements posing as native doctors to exploit the public.

He challenged anyone who claims they can confer wealth to prove it, even offering himself as a test subject. The governor expressed deep concern over the rising number of Anambra indigenes imprisoned abroad due to scams and drug-related crimes linked to such false promises.
