Two-time world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Wednesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The visit was announced by Olusegun Dada, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, who shared the news via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

During the visit, Joshua presented President Tinubu with an autographed boxing glove as a sign of respect. Dada shared the moment, stating, “Champ @anthonyjoshua pays homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his residence in Lagos and presents him with his autographed glove.”

Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun revealed that Anthony Joshua will serve as the official torchbearer for the rescheduled 2024 National Sports Festival. In a meeting on December 30, Governor Abiodun expressed excitement about Joshua’s role as sports ambassador and urged him to ignite the torch for the Gateway Sports Festival.

The Governor also announced the construction of a new indoor boxing ring in Abeokuta, named after Joshua. He explained, “This new boxing ring will encourage you to visit home more frequently and help foster a thriving sports culture in Ogun State.”

Additionally, Governor Abiodun offered Joshua a new residence in Sagamu and encouraged him to work with the National Sports Commission and the state Commissioner for Sports Development to organize a boxing championship in Ogun.

Governor Abiodun praised Joshua’s global achievements and reiterated the state’s commitment to supporting his career.
