FCT Police Secure 128 Convictions As 388 Suspects Face The Law In 2024

The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has announced that it arraigned 388 suspects for various criminal offenses in 2024, resulting in 128 convictions.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, shared this information in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to Adeh, the command secured 11 convictions out of 16 “one-chance” robbery cases, eight convictions from 32 homicide cases, and 58 convictions from 178 fraud cases. Additionally, 11 convictions were obtained from 19 cultism-related cases.

She also reported that 26 suspects were arraigned for burglary, with eight convictions, while 11 convictions were secured from 21 car theft cases.

However, Adeh noted that there were no convictions in the 58 cases of police misconduct.

In total, the FCT police handled 1,426 reported cases in 2024, leading to the arrest of 1,077 suspects. Of these, 104 kidnapping cases resulted in the arrest of 216 suspects, and 268 armed robbery cases led to the apprehension of 132 individuals.
