APC Crisis Deepens In Rivers: Court Voids Congresses After Aggrieved Members’ Lawsuit

The court ruled that the congresses violated an existing court order, deeming the entire process illegal.
Despite the court’s prohibition, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje proceeded with the inauguration of new party executives on December 14.
Aggrieved party members, who alleged they were unlawfully excluded from the congresses despite meeting financial requirements, challenged the process in court.
After reviewing arguments from both sides, Justice Godswill Obomanu declared the congresses invalid.
This ruling has plunged the leadership structure of Rivers APC into uncertainty, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the newly inaugurated executives.
