APC Fires Shot At Makinde: ‘Prepare Your Handover Note, Oyo Cannot Remain In Bondage

The call was made during a press briefing at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where State APC Youth Leader, Comrade John Aremu, stated that young party members are actively mobilising to reclaim power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Aremu criticised the current administration for what he described as poor governance and inefficiency, claiming it has stalled Oyo’s progress.

He said, “The present government has held Oyo State in bondage, and the people are exhausted. APC youths are ready to deliver the political change the state desperately needs.”

The youth leader warned that the ruling party should prepare for its eventual exit as the APC youth wing positions itself to take charge of the state’s leadership.

Aremu highlighted that the next phase of Oyo’s development would be youth-driven, with emerging leaders ready to provide a more progressive path.

He stated, “The ruling party must brace for departure. Progressive young leaders are ready to assume responsibility.”

On party unity, Aremu praised the reconciliation between former governorship candidate Senator Teslim Folarin and the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, describing it as a significant boost for the APC’s cohesion ahead of the next election cycle.

He added that the upcoming APC Youth Summit will play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s youth wing ahead of 2027. The summit will focus on restructuring party units, mobilising grassroots support, and aligning young members behind a shared vision.

A comprehensive youth-led roadmap will also be unveiled, featuring digital advocacy, political mobilisation, community engagement projects, and issue-based campaigns aimed at reclaiming Oyo State.

Aremu emphasised that APC youth leaders are ready to drive the transformation needed to advance Oyo’s development. “The future of Oyo must be planned today,” he said, reaffirming their commitment to shaping the state’s next political chapter.
