Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dennis Idahosa, has pledged that under the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo, local councils will be granted full autonomy if elected.

Idahosa made this commitment during his address to APC members in Ward 5 and Ward 6 of Egor Local Government Area, where he joined party council leaders in mobilizing support for their governorship campaign.

The representative of Ovia Federal Constituency criticized the alleged misappropriation of local council funds by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Edo State Government for gubernatorial campaigns and other purposes. He argued that such actions hinder the councils from fulfilling their obligations to the people.

Idahosa also promised that an APC government would establish a functional health center in every ward across the state and implement universal health insurance to assist low-income earners in accessing medical services during emergencies.

Highlighting their energy plans, Idahosa emphasized utilizing the state’s gas potential to ensure stable and affordable electricity, contrasting it with what he described as PDP’s electricity policies, which he claimed primarily benefit the wealthy.

As part of their economic agenda, the APC running mate pledged to create job opportunities through partnerships with foreign investors and by fostering an investment-friendly environment.
