APC Taunts PDP: Zone Presidency Anywhere, Defeat Awaits In 2027
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has waved off the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) decision to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
At its 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the PDP resolved to hand the ticket to the South, potentially clearing the path for Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and other southern aspirants to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the next general elections.
Reacting to the move, APC’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, insisted that zoning would not save the PDP from defeat in 2027. Speaking with Punch, he argued that President Tinubu’s policies, programmes, and projects are already winning the confidence of Nigerians nationwide.
“The issue is not about zoning to the South,” Ibrahim said. “They can zone their ticket to any part of the world. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the President of a region; he is the President of Nigeria. The APC is national in outlook, character, and service. What matters is competence, and Tinubu embodies that.”
He further stressed that Tinubu would seek re-election and defeat the opposition “hands down” because his government is “meeting the yearnings and expectations of Nigerians.” Ibrahim dismissed the PDP as a failed party, adding: “Nigerians will not want to give them another chance.”
