Jegede acknowledged that while skill is essential, appearance remains a major influence in show business because it is the first thing audiences notice. She pointed out that visual appeal often drives attention, engagement, and overall commercial success.

According to her, “Actors have many qualities to bank on, not just their looks. But appearance is very important in showbiz because what people see is what attracts business. It matters a lot.” She added that various entertainers have progressed in their careers through different strengths unrelated to physical attractiveness. Still, she urged individuals who excel in appearance to make confident use of it, noting that similar trends cut across numerous industries.

On the issue of pay in Nollywood, Jegede explained that earnings differ based on an actor’s track record and contributions over time. She noted that those who have remained consistent and proven their value tend to be better compensated. “I can’t speak for everyone, but for me, Nollywood pays the bills — not all of them, but a good part. I’m pleased with how far the industry has progressed compared to before,” she said.
