The statement revealed that the governor’s approval followed the successful screening of the third batch of pensioners spanning the 17 local government councils within the state.

Payment will be directly made to the retirees, while the next of kin of deceased pensioners will receive the funds on behalf of the deceased individuals. The statement emphasized that this financial support is expected to significantly contribute to the retirees’ livelihoods, facilitating a comfortable life in retirement.

It is worth noting that a similar approval was granted in November of the preceding year, where the monthly standing payment of gratuities saw an upward adjustment from N100 million to N200 million. This move aimed at extending coverage to more beneficiaries on a monthly basis, as reported by BUSHRADIOGIST.
