Nnabude explained that under the current arrangements agreed upon by the tripartite committee—comprising the state government, the traders, and Checkbest International Limited—no trader will lose their shop, as they retain the right of first refusal.

He further assured affected traders that they would remain in business throughout the remodelling period, with the developer providing alternative relocation shops.

Another committee member, Stanley Meshach, called on anyone resisting the project to lend their support.

Market developer Chiedozie Njoku also reassured traders that no one would lose their shops during the remodelling and that the right of first refusal would be upheld as per the tripartite agreement.
