Mohbad’s Dad Breaks Silence: Naira Marley Was Never A Bully To My Son Nigerins React

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Aloba insisted that his son was bullied during his lifetime, despite recent claims by Mohbad’s former record label boss, Naira Marley, denying involvement in his ordeals.

In a video released earlier in the week, Naira Marley maintained that he had no hand in Mohbad’s struggles or death, stating that he only tried to guide the young artist, particularly after discovering his alleged use of illicit substances.

But recounting his own experience, the elder Aloba said, “I went to see Naira Marley over some of the things Mohbad had told me, and that was all. Later, however, I personally witnessed other incidents. There were about three people there; two of them are still alive today. They were members of Naira Marley’s team, though younger. In fact, one of them once came to me to report that Naira Marley was beating Mohbad.”

He also dismissed claims that he sought financial gain from his visit to Naira Marley, saying, “When we went to apologise, he didn’t even speak respectfully. People assume I went there for money, but life is far more than what I want to eat.”

On the issue of financial transactions through unfamiliar accounts, Aloba confirmed that Naira Marley had once raised concerns about Mohbad diverting payments.

He explained, “Naira Marley complained that Mohbad was receiving money through an account that wasn’t his and that he had to compel him to use his own personal account. I also noticed Mohbad was sending me money from a strange account, and I warned him that anything he wanted to give me should come from his account. That is all I know about the account issue.”

Meanwhile, new revelations about Mohbad allegedly routing payments through his mother-in-law’s account have stirred fresh debates. Mohbad’s sister-in-law, Karimo, weighed in: “Naira Marley revealed that it was Wunmi’s mother’s account number Mohbad presented for his payments, and nobody is questioning it. By now, I expected the SAN representing Baba Mohbad to have petitioned for Wunmi’s mother’s account to be investigated.”
