Reacting to reports of violence and killings during the ongoing ##EndBadGovernance protests, Atiku questioned the professionalism of the security agencies managing these demonstrations.

Atiku compared the shooting of protesters to “the dark days of military dictatorship” and called on President Bola Tinubu to address and act on the demands of the Nigerian people.

In his statement, the former Vice-President condemned the use of live ammunition against peaceful protesters in Kano and Abuja, labeling it “intolerable” and a throwback to Nigeria’s oppressive past. He emphasized the need for the government and security agencies to ensure a safe environment for citizens to protest without fear.

Atiku criticized the use of force, noting that it only heightens tensions and transforms peaceful protests into chaos. He urged the international community, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to monitor the situation closely and hold Nigerian leadership and security forces accountable.
