Paul Ibe, media aide to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has raised concerns over the legal status of the recently impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A Supreme Court document dated July 24, 2020, reportedly revealed that Obasa is not recognized as a lawyer by the apex court. The document, which was a response to a verification request regarding Obasa’s legal status, was signed by Gertrude Karenton-Mordi on behalf of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Ibe questioned why the document surfaced only after Obasa’s impeachment. He also alleged that there are many other individuals in government with questionable credentials.

He wrote, “Why is the Supreme Court document alleging that impeached Speaker Obasa is not a registered legal practitioner just coming out now? By the way, there are several of such persons still serving in government, from the very top to lawmakers.

“Among the class of 2023 are those who forged certificates, lied about schools they never attended, refunded money for links to drug trafficking, were indicted for stealing client funds, and were involved in credit card scams. There are several Obasas still holding sway.”
