During the official inauguration of the university, Bago expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to advancing education in the country. According to a statement from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso, Bago highlighted that upgrading the institution to a federal university would greatly enhance the educational landscape of Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.

“This university is a beacon of hope, promising to shape the future of our nation by training well-equipped educators who will inspire generations,” Bago stated. He was represented at the event by Isah Adamu, Special Adviser on Governance and Reform.

Bago continued, “The upgrade of this institution will significantly impact Niger State and Nigeria. It is not only an academic hub but also a center for intellectual growth, research, and innovation. By focusing on teacher education, we are investing in the future of our communities and the prosperity of Nigeria.”

Acknowledging the challenges facing Nigeria’s education sector, including inadequate infrastructure and limited resources, Bago expressed optimism that the university’s inauguration marks a crucial step toward overcoming these obstacles. Minister of State for Education, Yusuf Sununu, reiterated that Tinubu’s administration prioritizes education as the foundation for social transformation and development. Sununu also encouraged students to utilize the student loan program to support their education, stressing that financial constraints should not hinder their academic pursuits.
