Bandits Kidnapped Two Journalists Along With Their Families In Kaduna

Naija News learned that armed men raided the homes of AbdulGafar Alabelewe of The Nation newspaper and AbdulRaheem Aodu of Blueprint Newspaper, kidnapping their wives and children.

According to Taofeeq Olayemi, a family member of one of the victims, the attack occurred around 10:30 pm on Saturday. The assailants fired shots indiscriminately before carrying out the abductions.

Olayemi detailed that the bandits initially kidnapped Alabelewe, his wife, and three of his children, along with a girl staying with them. However, they later released the girl and one child, taking Alabelewe, his wife, and two children. The attackers forcibly entered the house by breaking doors and windows and scaling the fence.

In a similar fashion, the bandits broke into Aodu’s home, abducting him and his wife while leaving behind their sick daughter. The vigilantes arrived shortly after the bandits left and began shooting into the air.

As of the time of reporting, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kaduna, ASP Mansir Hassan, has yet to issue a statement on the incident.
