The event took place on Saturday in Bungudu town, the headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State. It was attended by prominent personalities from both within and outside the state. The brides and bridegrooms were elegantly dressed, attracting thousands of attendees.

The lawmaker provided each couple with beds and bedding materials and paid ₦10.5 million in dowry for the 105 brides. Additionally, Zubairu gave ₦100,000 to each of the 105 bridegrooms and ₦50,000 to each of the 105 grooms to help them start businesses.

In a separate development, the Nigerian Army has successfully eliminated 11 terrorists affiliated with the Islamic States of West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a special clearance operation in Sambisa Forest. This was confirmed through a statement released by the Nigerian Army on its official X handle on Saturday.

The operation, which targeted a known terrorist enclave in Jongo Village within Sambisa Forest, resulted in a fierce gun battle, leading to the death of several terrorists while others fled. The troops then conducted further exploitation of the area, capturing various arms, including 99 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammunition on a metal link, 19 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, three AK-47 rifle magazines, two 36-hand grenades, and two locally made firearms.

The Nigerian Army stated that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to root out ISWAP and other terrorist elements from the region, showcasing their operational effectiveness in combating terrorism and securing the area. The neutralization of ISWAP terrorists and the confiscation of their weapons are expected to enhance security and stability, demonstrating the military’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and protecting citizens.
