As tensions escalated, the guardsman attempted to secure the hospital gate, unaware that additional bandits were waiting outside. The attackers scaled the wall and shot the guardsman in the stomach. Although initially believed to be fatal, he received first aid and was later transported to a hospital in Katsina.

The bandits targeted Mustapha Hamza, a casual staff member on duty, but he managed to evade capture. However, his wife, who had accompanied him to the hospital, was taken by the assailants.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, explained that Mustapha, an anesthetist, was at the hospital to assist with a scheduled surgery. His wife typically accompanied him due to her discomfort staying alone at home, which unfortunately led to her abduction.

Kurfi Council Chairman Mannir Shehu Wurma has confirmed the incident and assured that the council is actively managing the situation.
