Bauchi Head Teacher Receives 11-Year Jail Term For Defiling 6-Year-Old Girl

The incident occurred when Zakari detained the girl for several hours beyond the official school closing hours after her admission screening. According to Barrister Dayabu Ayuba, the prosecuting counsel and a state counsel with the Bauchi State Ministry of Justice, Zakari inserted his finger into the girl’s private parts during the unlawful detention.

Ayuba shared details of the trial, mentioning that three witnesses, including the victim, testified before the court. The perpetrator, by instructing the victim to stay behind without providing a valid reason, subjected her to a reprehensible act tantamount to rape in legal terms.

The sentencing took place in July of the preceding year, following Jalaludeen’s plea for leniency. The gravity of the offense, however, led to a substantial prison term handed down by Justice Jibrin.
