Big Shake-Up Coming! Wike Orders Full Review Of Abuja Land Allocations

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Minister Nyesom Wike, has approved the creation of vetting teams to accelerate the regularisation of land allocations within Abuja’s six area councils.

FCT Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, disclosed this on Friday during the official inauguration of the Vetting Teams at his office.

He noted that the Minister has issued clear instructions and terms of reference to the teams, with the goal of ensuring a swift and efficient process.

According to Nwankwoeze, the teams will tackle long-standing challenges surrounding the issuance of titles for mass housing plots, ensuring that beneficiaries under the housing scheme receive proper documentation for their units.

He further explained that the initiative is part of broader efforts to resolve lingering issues related to land allocation, regularisation, and titling within the area councils’ housing projects.

The Director stressed that the vetting teams are a key step in improving the credibility of land administration in the FCT and restoring public confidence in the system. He added that Minister Wike has the political determination to drive the initiative to completion.

Describing the move as both bold and irreversible, Nwankwoeze called on developers and prospective titleholders to support the process. He also reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to delivering efficient land services in line with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
