At a recent event, Abioye highlighted his dedication to maintaining a strong relationship with Oyedepo, a partnership that has thrived for over 45 years. Despite his retirement, which follows the church’s updated operational guidelines known as The Mandate, Abioye remains committed to the church’s mission and vision. The Mandate recently revised the retirement age for church leaders from 60 to 55.

Abioye, alongside Bishop Thomas Arema, who has also served for over three decades, retired in accordance with this new directive. He emphasized that retirement is not an endpoint but a transition to a new phase of service, reaffirming his support for Oyedepo and the church’s objectives.
