Speaking to his supporters and PDP members in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike stated that his move was motivated by Secondus’s intention to endorse Tele Ikuru for the governorship position in Rivers State. Wike emphasized that he stands by his decision to oust Secondus, stating, “We kicked him out because he wanted to bring his cousin, Tele Ikuru. Who does he think he is?”
He further clarified misconceptions about the leadership change, asserting, “I have no regrets about it. Some leaders question how a ward chairman can remove a national chairman. No ward chairman removed him; he was suspended from the party. Once suspended, can anyone hold that position? People need to understand the facts.
