The Federal Government has officially commenced applications for the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (RHAMP) — a large-scale initiative designed to revolutionise Nigeria’s agriculture through advanced mechanisation and targeted support for young and female agripreneurs.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Spearheaded by the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) in partnership with Heifer Nigeria, the programme is a central pillar of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agricultural reform agenda, aimed at modernising farming practices, boosting food production, and reducing reliance on manual labour.

Announcing the launch on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, confirmed that the application portal — https://boanig.com — is now open and free to access. Interested applicants are advised to apply before the November 10, 2025 deadline.

According to BOA, RHAMP seeks to build a new generation of mechanisation service providers across Nigeria, prioritising women and youth who often face challenges accessing financing for tractors and other heavy-duty farm equipment. Existing mechanisation firms can also apply to expand their operations.

Through RHAMP, beneficiaries will gain affordable access to tractors and implements under a structured leasing arrangement, complemented by a three-year servicing plan at authorised workshops or mobile maintenance hubs. Repayments will be linked to usage and revenue, allowing gradual payment as productivity increases.

The programme also introduces digital monitoring systems using IoT technology to ensure efficient equipment use and timely maintenance.

Government’s Push for Modernised Farming

Officials describe RHAMP as a landmark step in the administration’s mission to modernise Nigeria’s food production system, strengthen rural livelihoods, and reduce the cost burden on small and medium-scale farmers.

The initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s commitment to boost domestic food output, promote agribusiness innovation, and equip farmers with modern tools for large-scale cultivation.

In June 2025, Tinubu unveiled the first phase of RHAMP, which saw the distribution of 2,000 state-of-the-art tractors, 50 industrial land-clearing bulldozers, 12 mobile workshops, and over 8,000 specialised implements nationwide.

At the launch, the President described the programme as “a monumental leap toward sustainable agricultural transformation,” pledging continued support to ensure food sufficiency and economic stability.

With the latest application phase underway, the government is urging women, youths, and agribusiness operators to seize this opportunity to participate in the nation’s growing mechanised farming ecosystem.

The Bank of Agriculture reaffirmed that RHAMP is not merely about tractor distribution but about developing a sustainable pipeline of skilled, well-equipped service providers who will drive Nigeria’s agricultural revolution and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
