BREAKING: Federal High Court Strikes Out Suits Challenging PDP Ward Congresses In Edo State

The rulings, based on legal grounds, came from Justice Inyang Okoro, who found that the plaintiffs lacked the necessary locus standi to bring the suits before the court.

In separate judgments delivered on Tuesday, Justice Ekwo emphasized that the plaintiffs failed to demonstrate how their interests were directly affected by the conduct of the ward congresses, which they sought to nullify.
The first lawsuit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/195/2024, was filed by Adizetu Hadiza Umoru, while the second, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/196/2024, was filed by Moses Ademola Alabi and another individual.

The court found that the plaintiffs had not met this threshold, leading to the dismissal of their suits challenging the PDP ward congresses in Edo State.
The ruling comes a few months before the Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024.
