Additionally, Idris discussed the construction of an Islamiyya School and mosque, explaining that these initiatives were aimed at promoting proper religious education and fostering peace and unity within the communities.
While acknowledging the high expectations from the community, the Minister emphasized that projects would be implemented gradually.
Idris made these remarks during the inauguration of several multimillion-naira projects he initiated in his hometown of Malagi, Gbako Local Government Area, Niger State. Other projects included the construction of a New Jumaat mosque, electrification and water supply projects, and an inspection of a newly renovated primary school in the area.
He also took the opportunity to defend President Tinubu’s policies, which have faced criticism for imposing hardships on Nigerians.
“The policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are meant to guide Nigeria toward lasting prosperity. All his reform programs are well thought out and aimed at benefiting all Nigerians, regardless of their background,” Idris stated. “The progressive path of President Tinubu will not leave anyone behind, and we encourage all Nigerians to support him.”
Acknowledging the current challenges, he continued, “Reforms are never easy, but they are necessary. They may be difficult now, but we are confident they will lead to positive change. Nigeria will turn a corner, and by 2025, we will see the full benefits of these reforms.”
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his contributions to community development, noting his ₦12 million donation to various local groups, including women, youth, vigilante organizations, and district heads.
The governor also pledged to transform the newly renovated primary school into a model junior secondary school, construct a market for the community, and focus on rural development with the building of access roads and rural markets to support agricultural trade.
Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, called on elected officials to take an active role in the development of their communities.
