Renowned Islamic cleric and prominent leader of Nigeria’s Tijjaniyya order, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

His death was confirmed early Thursday by former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad in a Facebook post. He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart and full submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that we announce the passing of our esteemed leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of the pillars of the Tijjaniyya order in Nigeria. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, reward his noble deeds, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.”

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who was 98 years old, was born on June 29, 1927. Details surrounding his death remain limited at this time.

As a young boy, he studied the Holy Qur’an under the guidance of his father, Alhaji Usman, and eventually memorized it entirely. He furthered his religious education under scholars such as Shaykh Tijani Usman Zangon-Bare-bari, Shaykh Abubakar Atiku, and Shaykh Abdulqadir Zaria, ultimately receiving the Tijjaniyyah Tariqah. His father was a Tijani muqaddam (Imam) who held authorization (ijāzah) for the tariqa.

Until his passing, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi served as the deputy chair of the Fatwa Committee of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) in Nigeria.
