In a social media post on Saturday, Malami described his engagement with the anti-corruption agency as successful.

The former Justice Minister, who has recently declared his intention to run for Kebbi State governorship, stated that he has been scheduled for a follow-up appointment for further discussions. He also dismissed the allegations against him as fabricated.

Malami wrote:
“In line with my commitment to keep Nigerians informed about my EFCC invitation, I give glory to Allah for His divine intervention. The engagement was successful, and I was eventually released, with a further appointment scheduled as the truth regarding the fabricated allegations against me continues to unfold.”

During his tenure as the nation’s chief law officer, Malami handled high-profile legal matters, including asset recovery, anti-corruption reforms, and government decisions that attracted public attention. He also dealt with cases involving financial crimes, arbitration disputes, and governance reforms.

In recent years, Malami has faced scrutiny over issues such as asset declarations and fund management, all of which he has consistently denied.
