At the event, Asuquo, popularly known as Dansuki, expressed strong optimism about the political future of Cross River State under the APC’s leadership.

He described the people of Cross River as “God’s special people” and confidently predicted that the APC would sweep all polling units in the state during the 2027 general elections.

Asuquo also praised Governor Bassey Otu for his “People’s First” administration, highlighting his dedication, transparency, hard work, and generosity towards the people. He stated that Governor Otu’s leadership had strengthened his loyalty to the APC.

Highlighting recent political developments, Asuquo noted that with the dissolution of the Obedient movement from the Labour Party into the APC and the influx of key defectors from the PDP, the party is poised to secure 500,000 votes for both Governor Otu and President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections.

“The President is set to win Cross River State overwhelmingly for the first time. With the Obedient movement merging into APC and my colleagues from PDP joining us, we are confident of achieving 500,000 votes for Governor Otu and President Tinubu in 2027,” he stated.

Asuquo explained that his decision to join the APC was driven by a desire to align with Governor Otu’s administration and contribute to the state’s economic growth and development.

He further emphasized that politics is a form of service to humanity and described his defection as a “moment of service and payback” to his constituents.

“Politics is about service. I present myself to serve and give back to our people, especially those who have supported me. I thank the APC leaders for their support, which I believe will translate into electoral victory. I urge everyone to join us in this journey, and I assure you that better days lie ahead,” Asuquo concluded.
