Dismissing the claims as the deliberate efforts of his detractors aiming to undermine his campaign, Melaye emphasized that the purported amounts of “N1 billion from Atiku and N2 billion from Dangote” were baseless and fabricated by individuals with ulterior motives.

In his remarks, Melaye underscored two key lessons from the situation. Firstly, he emphasized the importance of collaboration among regions, asserting that the East now recognizes the necessity of partnering with other zones to secure the governorship. Secondly, Melaye advised individuals from the West to heed the wisdom of their elders and not be swayed by self-serving figures. He lamented the consequences of disregarding such advice, noting that the election unfolded as predicted by the elders, who foresaw it as the most challenging for the region.
